Our Sisters, Clergy and Guards come from varying backgrounds but all share a passion for serving their community and giving back. Whether you want to be a Sister or a Guard (or some other form of Clergy), you must go through a thorough and lengthy process consisting of four stages:
1. Aspirant
2. Postulant
3. Novice
4. Fully Professed
JOIN US!
ASPIRANT
Regardless of the path you ultimately choose, you are considered an Aspirant when you formally declare your interest/intent to join at one of our general membership meetings.
This period typically lasts for at least three months.
During this time you should be developing relationships with the Sisters, participating in our events and watching how we work and operate. At this stage you are not a member and have no rights within the Order.
Near the end of that time, if the Order agrees that you are a good fit, you will need to find a Fully-Professed Member to be your main sponsor.
With the Mistress of Novices’ recommendation and the sponsorship of an FPM, you will be brought up for elevation and voted upon by the membership.
POSTULANT
As a Postulant, you are a Member of the Order although you still have no voting rights.
The Postulant begins to manifest the outward appearance of a Sister, Guard or whatever form of clergy they are taking. This includes our traditional whiteface makeup and attire deemed appropriate per our Policies & Procedures.
Despite this, the general public will begin to see them to be a part of The Sisters and their interactions will radically change.
In addition to continuing to further your relationships within the Order, you are required to attend all of our meetings and many of our events. You will also be responsible for a Postulant Project (something that benefits the House directly).
Postulancy lasts for at least three months.
Once you complete the requirements and have the Mistress of Novices’ support, you may ask to be elevated to Novice status where you will be voted upon by the membership.
NOVICE
The Novice stage lasts for at least six months. You will be required to do a Novice Project (which should directly benefit the Community).
Once you complete the requirements and have the Mistress of Novices’ support, you may ask to be elevated to Fully Professed status. As with the other steps, you will be voted upon by the membership.
FULLY-PROFESSED MEMBER
(FPM)
As a Fully-Professed Member of the Order, you have all of the rights and privileges of a Member. You may vote, represent the Order and manifest as you feel called to do so.
Fully-Professed Members may also hold office and help shape the direction and development of the Order. Our FPM’s serve the Order in many different roles.
Taken as a whole, they make the Order what it is.
